I will forever and ever be indebted to Northern Utah’s first professional Christian based dance company, Moments of Grace.
If you’ve been up to date with my story, you know that Moments of Grace had a HUGE role to play in my moving to Utah.
In April after being in @mixddancecompany’s beautiful show, I was in limbo. I had been living with my in laws for almost a year and things weren’t looking promising in my marriage. I knew I needed to move forward. I knew there was more that life had to offer me in a different place and I knew I needed to get there. But it was a matter of figuring out the “how” “when” and “where”.
I’d felt the pull to move to Utah for awhile now. I had people telling me I needed to leave for Utah months ago, and people telling me that it wasn’t a good idea. I had people who were objective and just wanted what I felt was best and supported that. But ultimately, I knew I needed to listen to God, block out all the background noise (literal words that I received in a blessing), and listen to what He needed me to do.
I knew I needed to move to Utah and I knew as soon as I took those steps, we would be taken care of and the rest would fall into place.
And it has. In remarkable ways.
Moments of Grace is one of those remarkable blessings that I randomly fell upon (it wasn’t random at all. God is good). When I came across their Instagram and watched their video introducing the company, I bawled. It was such a strong answer to a prayer. I didn’t personally know any of the girls (but had heard of them and felt totally intimated by their talent but that’s besides the point 😅), and I didn’t live in Utah yet but I knew I needed to audition and figure out how to be a part of it. It has been one of THE biggest blessings since moving to Utah.
Summer was a crazy time for Leo and I. We moved to Utah in June, I got a job in July at a SaaS company as a Sales Development Representative, and during this all I also practiced with Moments of Grace to prepare for our first performance, The Prodigal Daughter, as a company in August. Without the incredible and gracious help of those in my circle, I wouldn’t have been any to do any of it. From housing, to childcare, to finding the job, emotional support, and all the things in between. We were blessed with the best of the best.
Our first performance was the last weekend of August, which also happened to fall on my birthday. Our closing performance was on my birthday, and it was truly the greatest birthday I have ever had. I got to dance with the most incredible humans, all for God, on my birthday. It truly can’t get better than that.
But it did.
The girls put together an incredible birthday for me throughout the entire day. They surprised me with a birthday breakfast, and at that birthday breakfast they gifted me with the sweetest birthday card that had a Visa gift card inside of it with $200 on in that they ALL chipped in to give me to help Leo and I buy stuff for our new apartment. I’m telling ya, they are the greatest humans EVER!! After breakfast, 3 of my bffs from the company, Kass (the director of the company), Ells (one of the assistant directors) and Kena (one of the dancers) took me to Minky Couture to buy me my first Minky blanket for our apartment that we were moving into the next day. And after our dance performance, we all went to dinner where Kam (one of the dancers) surprised me by MAKING ME A BIRTHDAY CAKE and bringing it to the dinner.
YOU. GUYS.
I’m so forever grateful for their kindness, friendship, love, and support. They have been an absolute BLESSING in Leo & I’s lives and I can’t even begin to put into words how much I love them and how grateful I am to have them in my life now. The only thing I question now is how I ever lived without them.
